My grandmother on my dad's side lived in a holler in West Virginia.

My family and I live in Ohio, but we would go visit her from time to time over the years.

It was like an adventure every time we visited.

Grandma was fun of telling us a story of a time

when she saw a face in the window.

She described it as a large hairy man she called burper.
