Professor Emeritus of George Washington University,

and the author of several books about the American Revolution.

Dr. DePaul joined us to discuss her book In Search of Molly Pitcher, a fictional account of a student seeking to track down the true

origins of the Molly Pitcher story. We held our discussion via Zoom.

Why don't we get to start off by telling us a little bit about your book in search of Molly

Pitcher?

It's not a traditional nonfiction history book like we talk about on this podcast very often.

Why don't you explain what it is?

Well, right after the bicentennial, when the catalog for my museum exhibit showed a woman with a musket,

I kind of moved my specialty in early American district to military women.
