Today we'll be discussing the presidency of George Washington and specifically how the cabinet evolved during that first administration.

I had the opportunity to speak with Lindsay Servinsky, author of the book,

The Cabinet, George Washington and the creation of an American institution.

Dr. Chravinsky is a historian of early America, the presidency, and the government,

especially on matters dealing with the President's Cabinet.

She speaks and writes frequently on the history of the executive branch and how it has evolved

over time.
