another edition of jay's analysis we're going to talk about continental philosophy this time and

we've done so many talks and so many discussions that dealt with analytical philosophy and empiricism

and what characterizes the west generally in our day and has since the scientific revolution,

enlightenment, and so forth.

But there's also the European continental tradition.

And so we want to look at those,

and we also want to offer a critique,

because they're also very inadequate.

And what we're going to find out,

as is often the case there

are dialectical tensions usually philosophical schools like to try to boil everything down to one

single simple solution for everything and you know some philosophers trying to make his case and

sell his theories as a means by which everything can be grasped.

And that is characteristic of analytical philosophy with, say, Birch and Russell and the methods of quantification and everything being encapsulated under numerics

and tabulation and logic that's characteristic of existentialism

and everything being somehow explained according to the on we and the

difficulties and

malleability of man's

existence

it's in any of these schools

of philosophy really pragmatism
