0:22.2	My guest today is theologian Mary Herschfeld. Now, you're probably wondering why I'd be talking
0:27.5	with a theologian on an American politics podcast. And, you know, it's a good question.
0:32.5	The answer is that Professor Herschfeld isn't your typical theologian. She started out as an economist,
0:39.5	getting her PhD from Harvard, after which she worked and taught as an economist for the next 15 years.
0:45.8	She then made a, I think you would call a fairly unique career change, getting a doctorate in
0:50.8	theology from Notre Dame. She's currently an associate professor of economics and theology at Dillonova, and her
0:56.9	latest book is Aquinas and the market for the humane economy.
1:01.8	Now, as myself a lapsed Catholic, I guess you could say, and a big fan of Aquinas, I was really
1:08.4	eager to hear what Thomas Aquinas, who's definitely one of the greatest philosophers
1:12.9	and theologians of all time, had to say about economics.
1:17.4	And so I found Aquinas in the market to be just full of fascinating insights.
1:22.2	And so I'm really happy to have the opportunity to talk to Professor Hirschfeld about her book today on the
