| 0:33.1 | Hello and welcome to I know Dino. |
| 0:35.1 | I'm Garrett. And I'm Sabrina. |
| 0:35.4 | And today we'll be talking about Aquilops, Americanus, which means the American Eagle Face, as well as some dinosaur news. |
| 0:44.2 | So first in dinosaur news, there is a stegosaurus skeleton that's known as Sophie the Stegasaurus, |
| 0:52.7 | and some paleontologists at the Natural History Museum of London |
| 0:57.9 | have used a new method to determine how much the Stegosaurus weighed. |
| 1:03.1 | So what they did is they took all of the bones, and they scanned them with a 3D scanner, |
| 1:10.6 | and made a simulation of the dinosaur to see what they think it would have weighed. |
| 1:15.8 | And according to articles, most people are reporting that it weighed around 3,527 pounds, which I think is kind of dumb that they went to the single pounds place when they're estimating. |
| 1:29.2 | But anyway, it's about what they had imagined and calculated when they're using traditional methods. |
| 1:35.8 | So it's really just a way of reaffirming their previous estimates. |
| 1:40.6 | But it's always neat when they use new technology. |
| 1:43.2 | Yeah, up until last year, the way that scientists figured out how much a dinosaur weighed |
| 1:49.8 | was based on the size of the bones on their upper arms and thighs. |
| 1:53.5 | Yeah, those are the bones that we had discussed as being the gold standard for determining |
| 1:58.2 | the weight of a dinosaur, but obviously, if you can look at the |
| 2:01.7 | entire bone structure holistically and model it, that could give you more accurate results. |
| 2:06.9 | It looks like it's pretty similar so far. The next piece of news is the one I actually think is the |
| 2:11.9 | most exciting, even though it's maybe not exciting to everybody. |
| 2:22.9 | And that's the company Crytech, who's known for making the video games, |
