0:16.7	Let's start with the reflections.
0:19.4	We recently finished our tenth book of the Bible and are currently working our way through

0:24.0	So let's get the 30,000th of view on where we are in the chronological timeline of the
0:28.2	Bible's overall meta-narrative.
0:30.9	The Bible is one unified story.
0:33.3	Way back in Genesis, God set out to build a relationship with one particular family.
0:38.0	But things go terribly wrong when they fracture the relationship through sin.
0:41.8	But their sin doesn't surprise God.
0:43.7	He already had a plan in place to restore this relationship even before it was broken.
0:48.2	And he continues working out that plan immediately, undeterred and unhindered by their rebellion.
0:53.9	He sets apart a man named Abraham to be the patriarch of the family.
0:57.2	And he gives this family a name.
0:58.7	He Israelites.
1:00.0	They're a busted bunch of people who lie, cheat and steal.
1:03.6	God blesses them despite their sin, but sin still has its consequences.
1:08.4	One of the long storylines of consequence is of the 400 years they spent enslaved in

1:14.3	God sends a man named Moses to demonstrate his power to the Egyptian ruler who reluctantly
1:18.9	agrees to let the Israelites slaves go.
