Hi friends I am Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. We're reading all four

books this month. It's going to be about three chapters a day, take about 20-ish minutes each day, and we're going to be

following the plan that is in the Let's Read the Gospel's Guided Journal.

We're going to start with John, as we are doing, then Luke and Mark and then Matthew so go ahead subscribe today on a

podcast on YouTube wherever you are listening to this and join us as we read the

Gospels together in 30 days so here's all this I'm going to read those three chapters to you today.

You can listen on your favorite podcast platform. You can watch on YouTube and read along in your

own Bible and then I'll pray and that's it. Today is day five and I'll be reading John 13 through 15

from the new living translation.

John 13. Before the Passover Celebration,

Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his father.

He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth and now he loved them to the very end.

It was time for supper and the devil had already prompted Judah, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.

Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God.

So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped

a towel around his waist and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the

disciples' feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.

When Jesus came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, Lord, are you going to wash my feet?

Jesus replied, you don't understand now what I'm doing, but someday you will.

No, Peter protested. You you will never ever wash my feet
