And the Indian government is accused of attempting to assassinate sick activists on U.S. soil. This was something that sort of traces back to the 1980s.

It sort of went quiet for many decades since then,

but has flared back up since Modi came to power. Welcome to the news hour. A Hamas delegation left Cairo this evening and is expected

to return with a response to the latest ceasefire proposal.

That's as fraught negotiations continue nearly seven months into the war in Gaza.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinkin is back in the region today,

and he pressed not just for a ceasefire

and for hostage release, but for much more humanitarian aid into Gaza.

In the meantime, the Israeli bombardment continues in Gaza south, with the city of Rafa in their

sites. Homes in southern Gaza today nothing more than crushed concrete and

twisted bodies.

Amid this wreckage, one small survivor,

just two months old.

We took her from under the rubble, thank God.
