Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day.

Number one, we've got our takeaways on President Joe Biden's big speech last night.

All right, Jake, last night was a big night for Joe Biden. You were in the chamber. Talk a little

bit about that because I think it's kind of instructive to bring people into one,

just how different this speech was compared to pretty much every other joint address,

state of the union speech, but then also kind of what that was like.

I could bring you into my exhaustion. I'm pretty tired right now. I didn't get home until

really late. The speech, obviously, well,

the speech we were told was supposed to begin at 9 and end at 950. That didn't happen. It was

about an hour and changed long. I don't think it ended until sometime in the tens. But a few

things that are worth noting.

You know, the room seemed really empty.

And it seemed almost like we were at a dress rehearsal for the big event, you know,

that was coming the next day, although it was the big event.

I was, you know, the members were sitting on the floor and also up in the gallery.
