| 0:00.0 | 9.8.5, the sports hub, we're Tudcher and Rich, simulcast and CSN television, Town Fair Tire Studios. MacArthur's the guy that Kevin Miller was just destroying, right? I mean, that's obviously the one that got pulled down by Posternock at the end, but I don't know. Was McArthur the guy that missed two years? Yes. Okay, yeah. Concussion issues, yes. |
| 0:21.4 | Did you see when Kevin Miller, like, blasted him, and then he was down, and |
| 0:25.2 | Kevin Miller just kept like... |
| 0:26.5 | Yes, I remember that. |
| 0:27.5 | I forgot it was MacArthur, but I do remember that, yes. |
| 0:29.9 | Yeah. |
| 0:30.3 | Well, you know what? |
| 0:31.1 | Maybe take notes next time. |
| 0:32.3 | My mistake. |
| 0:32.9 | I don't have that diary like you do. |
| 0:35.5 | It's true. It's not a diary. It's a journal. Sorry. And it's, once the pages are gone, I can just refill it again. Dave Gosher is the play-by-play voice of the Boston Bruins here on the home of your Bruins, 98-5, the sports hub. Hello, Mr. Gosher. Hey, what's going on there, guys? What did you take away from this series in terms of the future? Well, I think, you know, if you look at some of the guys that made an impact, Fred, you know, it's hard not to look at Charlie McAvoy, you know, a guy who was, you know, literally came out of BU three weeks before and had a real good impact on the team in the playoffs. So that maybe the last game of the series, he had a little bit of a struggle, but if you look at what he can bring to it, from an offensive standpoint, his ability to make good first passes, his ability to see the ice well, doesn't really seem to have a lot of panic in his game, can play physical if he needs to. I think that was great to see. you know, even if it wasn't the plan, I think the original plan was to let him play down in Providence in the American League and the playoffs there, which you probably will go back and do now. But you see with the impact he can make, I think Sean Correlli, the last two games, obviously, you know, a physical standpoint, but two huge goals in game five. So as you look forward, and I would throw, you know, Jacob Ford's back of Carlson just in that mix. |
| 1:46.8 | I know he didn't play in the series, but I think, you know, as you look forward towards next season, and you potentially look, especially with JFK and McAboy, two young guys with Corrali that could have an impact. So is Cassidy the right guy to be the head coach of this Bruins team? With all I consider with these young players that he's got some experience with. Yeah, I think so, Rich. I mean, I would be surprised if he wasn't, you know, and it's hard to argue with the results that Bruce got. I think he was 18, 8 and 1 in the regular season. And, you know, you can make an argument that maybe they don't even get to the playoffs if they're not able to shake things up and make a coaching change. |
| 2:20.1 | I think it kind of became more and more apparent as time went on that it was something that was necessary. |
| 2:25.0 | And I do think it gave the team the jolt that they needed. |
| 2:28.0 | So I think he deserves a shot at it, you know, the adjustments that he kind of made in their game, |
| 2:33.1 | wanting them to be more offensive-minded to a certain extent extent maybe take a little bit more chance in their game as well |
| 2:38.7 | you know and I think he's a good fit you know especially as you said rich with the younger guys |
| 2:43.3 | that they they've already seen a glimpse of and other guys that they hope to see more glimpses |
| 2:48.8 | of down the road. |
| 3:08.5 | I would be surprised if he, I do think he's the best choice, you know, coming off what he did over the past couple of months. So let's say you're Don Sweeney. What's your number one priority this offseason? Yeah, well, I think they've got to figure out some areas up front. You know, if there's a couple of areas that maybe caught up to them as the series went on, you can't get around the fact that losing three of their top four defense |
| 3:10.4 | but I think eventually they paid a price for that, and especially on their penalty kill, if you look at it, they were the number one penalty-kill team all year, but they took some hits on that in the playoffs, including two of the goals yesterday. I think if you can get those guys back and healthy, I think you'll be better there, especially with the addition of McAvoy. I think they'd like to add some help up front on the wings. I don't think that's a big secret, you know, and David Posterok and Brad Marchion had a rough series, and we saw them get targeted late in the regular season. You know, teams would go after them to try to get them off their games. And why wouldn't you? I mean, you get two guys that scored 30 goals during the regular season. So that depth was tested up front for them. And sure some other guys shipped in and Drew Stafford had a couple of goals in the playoffs. And Corralli had a couple of goals as well, but it seemed like once you could |
| 3:58.6 | kind of deal with shutting down the, you know, Bergeron's line with Marche and Impostronok, |
