The train journeys can be more comfortable. They're more scenic, obviously more sustainable.

I think I'd probably feel better as a traveller and as a travel writer to go by train than to fly.

Natalie Wilson, because it is another travel desk Tuesday. It's also, you may have spotted Earth

Day when we are all supposed to be paying due attention to the planet and our part in it.

Now, I'm really interested in talking to Natalie

because I want to find out if care for the environment,

the impact of your travel upon other people and upon the planet,

whether that's something that people are genuinely interested in.

Natalie, how are you doing?

I'm doing very well, thank you. How are you?

Well, I'm all right, but I'm just thinking of my next holiday, which no doubt will involve

flying somewhere and indulging in some resort where I'm using the water that otherwise

might be flowing to the local people, where I'm most certainly going to be turning up at tourist

attractions, adding to over tourism,

that sort of thing, and hopefully having the time of my life.

On Earth Day, should we be more concerned about what we do when we travel?

Yes, we should be.

I don't know that means that everyone is.
