Just a quick update to explain the ordering of the next few episodes. I'm off to Istanbul soon

to help lead another tour, which will be fantastic, but I've run out of time to produce this episode

on life inside Turkic Anatolia. There's a lot to talk about, and you've sent in some very good

questions, which has expanded it. So that episode will have to wait for a few weeks. In the meantime,

I have some excellent interviews to cover. My absence, a really nice mix of Byzantine travel,

history, and fiction. So hopefully that all makes sense, and you know why I'm not responding to

emails or comments online, and why the next episode is not the one that you're expecting it to be.

And if you're jealous that I'm off to see the Hagia Sophia and you're not, then why not go

there virtually. My five-part guided tour of the building has just gone up on YouTube. It's

like I'm there with you, not giving you a moment's peace, just incessently telling you facts about
