0:00.0	Hi friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth. The friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. We started yesterday with day one of this month. We are listening or watching through the Gospels

1:06.5	read along in your own Bible. And then I'll pray. And that is it. So today is day two and I'll be reading
1:12.2	John chapter 4 through 6 in the new living translation. And we are on page 25 of the let's read
1:19.3	the gospel's guided journal. John 4. Jesus knew the Pharisees had heard that he was baptizing and making more disciples than John,
1:31.5	though Jesus himself didn't baptize them, his disciples did. So he left Judea and returned to
1:36.5	Galilee. He had to go through Samaria on the way. Eventually, he came to the Samaritan village of
1:41.8	Sikar near the field that Jacob gave his son Joseph. Jacob's
1:45.6	well was there, and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime.
1:51.7	Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, please give me a drink.
1:57.5	He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.
2:02.6	The woman was surprised, for Jews refused to have anything to do with Samaritans.
2:07.2	She said to Jesus, you are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman.
2:11.2	Why are you asking me for a drink?
2:14.1	Jesus replied, if you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me and I would give you living water.
