Here's where things stand in the post-Muller state of play. The most Donald Trump thing ever. The president would have probably obstructed justice had he been willing to fire Robert Mueller himself.

Instead, the notoriously conflict-dverse Trump relied on AIDS, like longtime Washington

hand Don McGahn.

Meanwhile, Capitol Hill Democrats, we spoke to yesterday, believe Trump has done enough to deserve

impeachment, even though they won't say it publicly.

The president tried to curb the Mueller probe on multiple occasions.

They know they can't remove him from office.

They need 20 Republican senators, and they know that impeachment is not popular, so they're

kind of stuck.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi scheduled a caucus conference call for Monday and wrote this in a letter

to her colleagues

from Ireland, where she is on congressional travel.

Quote, the Mueller report states, we concluded Congress's authority to prohibit a president's

corrupt use of his authority in order to protect the integrity of the administration of

justice, which accords with our constitutional system of

checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law. Congress will not be

silent. Republicans, of course, are thrilled. They believe there was no smoking gun, and they can
