Today we're covering the killing of Tamerlin Zarnayev,

one of the two brothers responsible for the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.

Now let's go back to Watertown, Massachusetts on April 19, 2013.

Shortly after midnight, Officer Joseph Reynolds spotted a black Mercedes SUV

cruising the dark streets. The vehicle seemed to be tailing a green Honda Civic. Police in Watertown

had been on the lookout after reports of a local carjacking. They had yet to learn that this crime

was tied to one of the largest man hunts in American history. The city had been on lockdown for

nearly four days, with both police and federal agents

on high alert. They were trying to find the terrorists responsible for detonating bombs near the

Boston Marathon's finish line. The explosion killed three people and wounded over 260. The search had been narrowed down to two suspects,

26-year-old Tamerlind Zarnaev and his 19-year-old brother, Jo Har. In the days following the

bombing, the two brothers tried to lay low, but by the evening of the 18th, law enforcement had honed in on the

Tsar Nayevs and released photos of the brothers as the prime suspects.

That night, Tamerlin and Johar went on the run, killing a police officer before carjacking

a Mercedes SUV. They planned to drive it to New York City,

where they detonate more bombs in Times Square. Luckily, they never got the chance. After Officer

Reynolds began trailing the vehicles, the Mercedes and Honda stopped abruptly in the middle of the

street. Once the police cruiser came to a halt behind them,

Tamerlin climbed out of the SUV and walked towards the police car.
