0:00.0	Hi friends, I am Annie F Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth.
0:13.0	The friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles.
0:17.0	So here's how this works.
0:19.0	We're reading all four books in 30 days.
0:21.0	We will read three chapters a day, so that's what I'll do today,
0:24.1	is read you three chapters. You can listen, you can watch on YouTube, or you can read along in
0:28.8	your own Bible, and then I'll pray, and that's it. So today is day 13 and I'll be reading Luke 16 through 18
0:36.2	from the new living translation and we are on page 91 of the Let's Read
0:41.6	the Gospel's guided journal.
0:47.4	Luke 16.
0:49.4	Jesus told this story to his disciples.
0:52.2	There was a certain rich man who had a manager handling
0:54.7	his affairs. One day a report came that the manager was wasting his employer's
0:59.4	money. So the employer called him in and said, what's this I hear about you? Get your report in order because you are going to be fired.
1:07.0	The manager thought to himself, now what? My boss has fired me.
1:10.0	I don't have the strength to dig ditches and I'm too proud to beg. I know how to
1:14.7	ensure that I'll have plenty of friends who will give me a home when I'm fired.
1:17.7	So he invited each person who owed money to his employer to come and discuss the
1:22.2	situation.
1:23.7	He asked the first one, how much do you owe him?
1:27.0	The man replied, I owe him 800 gallons of olive oil, so the manager told him,
1:32.1	take the bill and quickly change it to 400 gallons.
