Good morning, Playbookers. I'm Mike DeBonis. It's Tuesday, April 4th. So the big thing I'm watching

today is this thing in Manhattan, but I'll get to that in a second. It's actually Election Day

in America, or at least parts of America, and there's two particularly important races I've got

my eye on. In Wisconsin, tens of millions of dollars have poured into a Supreme Court race that

could flip

the balance of power on the court from conservatives to liberals and potentially upend

the state power structure that's been in place for over a decade.

If Janet Protisawicz, the more liberal candidate, wins over conservative Dan Kelly, it could

begin the final unraveling of the Scott Walker-era Republican machine and have an impact on redistricting, gun rights, abortion access, and more.

The other big election today is in Chicago, where a mayoral runoff pits two Democrats against each other, county commissioner Brandon Johnson, a progressive African-American versus Paul Valis, the more moderate white former CEO of the Chicago Public Schools.

The race is razor tight and it's centered on tough issues like crime and quality of life,

and the campaign has divided the city along unusual lines.

And meanwhile, back in Manhattan, we're expecting Donald Trump to present himself in court today

to face charges

related to the 2016 hush money allegations involving adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Right, right.

We've got Erica Orden, who covers the New York courts for us on the line.

I think there's a couple things that I will be keeping my eye on. The first is it's been pretty widely reported.

Donald Trump is expected to turn himself in around 11 in the morning at the Manhattan District Attorney's

Office. And for those who aren't, you know, familiar with the DA's office, this is not some sort of upscale, like Whitechew law firm conference room.

It's a pretty dingy rundown place.
