Hey, good morning. I'm Playbook editor, Mike DeBonis. It's Tuesday, April 18th. So here's what I'm watching today.

Waiter this morning, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is going to stand up in front of his conference for the first time in more than two weeks and try and sell them on his big plan to address the federal debt ceiling, which is going to hit sometime later this year. This is a

culminating moment. There's been a lot of talk inside the Republican Party about coming up with

a plan to serve as the basis of negotiations with President Joe Biden and congressional

Democrats. Kevin McCarthy yesterday gave a big speech at the New York Stock Exchange,

rolled out the elements of a plan. Now he just needs to

sell his Republican conference on actually passing it. And we're going to be watching really

closely on how that goes. Second thing we're watching today, Playbook author of Eugene Daniels

has taken a look at the nomination of Julie Sue to be Labor Secretary. She's going to have

her confirmation hearing later

this week in front of the Senate Help Committee. And it looks like she's going to need almost

unanimous Democratic support. Republicans are lining up against her. She's seen a sort of

progressive champion of union labor. And it seems very unclear now about whether she can

keep Democrats united behind her.

And the last thing I'm wondering about today is way up in Wilmington, Delaware, where we're

waiting to see whether the Dominion versus Fox trial is actually going to start.

It was delayed by a day due to supposed settlement discussions.

We haven't heard anything overnight.

And we're just waiting to see, along with the rest of the political and media worlds, about whether this potential

blockbuster trial that could feature testimony from the likes of Rupert Murdoch, Sean Hannity,

and Tucker Carlson is actually going to take place. But let's head back to Capitol Hill
