NBC Chicago reports that 27-year-old Alexa Bauté was shot and killed last Tuesday outside

a 7-11 in your Logan Square in Chicago.

Jeffrey Bauté, Alexa's father, told Block Club Chicago that his daughter and her close

friend had gone to the store to buy cigarettes and snacks.

The 7-11, only a few blocks away from Alexa's apartment, was observing social distancing

guidelines and was only admitting a limited number of customers at a time.

Alexa and her friend were waiting in line outside the store.

At around 8 pm, Alexa's friend reportedly went to lock his bike and when he turned around,

he saw her on the ground with blood coming out of her mouth.

Jeffrey Bauté told the outlet, quote, he didn't know what happened, someone called 911.

The EMT said she'd been shot, he didn't even know, no one heard anything.

Alexa had been shot once in the chest and was transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital
