Leading off today, a new rumor this week suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro might gain a unique battery advantage.

Reverse wireless charging.

When comparing Apple's big flagship models this year, the iPhone 17 Air and 17 Pro line will offer two distinct options.

The 17 Air will be the futuristic, ultra-thin iPhone, but with sacrifices on things like battery,

cameras, and specs. Or you can get the most powerful and most capable iPhone with the iPhone 17 Pro Max

or iPhone 17 Pro. Battery has always been an extremely important iPhone feature, and in that area,

the 17 Pro and Pro Max will easily

beat the new air. But it seems like they might gain an advantage not just in battery life,

but also functionality. A post on Waybo this week says that the iPhone 17 Pro has been tested

by Apple with a new reverse wireless charging functionality.

This feature could, depending on the implementation details, allow you to charge your AirPods,

Apple Watch, or perhaps another iPhone, simply by placing them on the back of your iPhone 17 Pro. So if you're out and about and your AirPods need a quick top-off, just place them on the back of your iPhone

17 for a quick recharge. This has been something rumored for years about potentially coming to

future iPhone models and has yet to materialize. Whether this is the year of that actually

happening remains to be seen, and there are questions about just how useful it might be, considering you're sacrificing your iPhone battery life for another accessory.

Next up today, if you've been holding your breath for a new pair of AirPods Max, well, you might

be out of luck. AirPods Max have had a bit of a disappointing history. They were released at the

tail end of 2020, and some fans were instantly disappointed with

the high price tag, the heavy design, and the lack of things like a proper folding case.
