Futures down about 40 here, some cautious headlines on trade from the Chinese, but we're up from

early morning levels. Plenty to get to, whether it's Apple, Facebook, Starbucks, Lyft, Altry, and

more. Europe's a bit weak, 10-year 173 is personal income and spending

roughly in line.

Our roadmap begins with Apple, set for a rally at the open,

nearing an all-time high, expanding

iPad and AirPods demand,

services growth offsetting that drop an iPhone.

Plus social media spat, Twitter banning

political ads, Facebook defending its decision not to, saying, quote, it's not all about money.

Facebook shares, by the way, rallying on those very strong earnings.

And trade headwinds for stocks. Market's set for a mixed open after a report about China's long-term doubts about a trade deal with this White House.

We'll begin with Apple, though, higher on better-than-expected quarterly earnings and revenue, despite

that drop in iPhone sales.

Results got a boost from stronger demand for iPads and AirPods, as well as growth and services.

Company issuing some upbeat holiday quarter guidance.
