Good Tuesday morning. Welcome to Squawk on the Street. I'm Carl Kintanay with Jim Kramer, David Faber, Post 9 of the New York Stock Exchange. Even with a light data and earnings calendar today, it is a busy one between the Barclays Financials Conference, job growth revisions on the way, an Apple event with the first major new phone design in years. Pre-market is steady, 10-year just below 407. Our roadmap begins with Apple's big day, slimmer iPhone, some new watches expected to be unveiled today.

We'll discuss if it'll be a catalyst for the stock, which is down for the year.

While Apple may be underperforming this year, the shares at least, the markets do keep hitting record highs.

This is investors gear up for those rate cuts.

However, one major area of the economy is flashing a warning sign. And we have a $53 billion deal this morning. It creates one of the

world's largest mining companies. We'll tell you about the players involved, what it means

for the sector, whether the deal will actually close, and anything else that Jim's thinking.

Let's begin with Apple's product event due to get underway in less than four hours from now.

Over the past five years, shares of Apple have posted gains in the 12-month periods following its iPhone launch events.

That includes a 15% jump after the unveiling of the 14 in 2022.

Actually, Jim, a lot of the discussion today revolves around the pro, which will have an

upgraded camera.

That's where some of the fire is expected to be.

Well, that's big, but I always think that you have to understand the state of play of

Verizon, of ATT, of T-Mobile.
