Welcome to the Apple Insider Podcast. This is your host, Stephen Robles, and joining me is my friend across the pond, William Gallagher. How are you doing, William?

0:42.0

Come, hello.

0:44.0

I'm mostly fine, but I'm afraid I've given up on you sending me an M1 Mac, so yeah, it's too late. I've gone on board one.

0:53.0

Oh, yes, and we will talk about that. But not only is my friend across the pond on here, Neil, you're joining us again for a three-way podcast here. What's up, Neil?

1:01.0

Hey, guys.

First of all, before we get to the big news of WWDC was announced, we're recording on April 1st, which is April Fool's Day, and listeners, I'm going to assure you now that we are not going to do any April Fool's jokes to you on this podcast, unlike all those other brands on Twitter.

1:17.0

1:39.0

You say, yes, it's an April Fool's joke, and then everybody plays along, but yeah, they totally screwed the pooch on that one.

1:45.0

It's fake, because I've got a drama background, and in drama, actually, you quite like producers to lie to you about things you can explore some surprises.

1:55.0

And I'm not sure when it all started, but for tech companies to feel like they have to do something silly on April Fool's, I want to just issue a blanket statement.

2:02.0

You don't have to do it.

2:03.0

Just don't do it.

2:04.0

It's crazy.

2:05.0

Is it true that Gmail started as an April Fool's joke, but it was such a good idea that they did it anyway?

2:11.0

It was a Gmail feature. There was a, there was like a undue send that they did as an April Fool's joke one year.

2:17.0

It said, oh, I don't want to send that email. And people were like, actually, if you gave me like 30 seconds to change my mind, I wouldn't mind that.
