LLM for Siri.

Let's start with what you need to know with the big story.

So Jason and I talked about this briefly on Friday.

Apple's expected decision to let you choose which LLM you want to use with

Siri, and Bloomberg's Mark German, who was the source of that Friday story, published some more

details on what sources are telling him will be the way this works. Put this in his power on

newsletter, which always goes out Sunday night. German describes a strategy similar to Apple's

strategy with apps.

So with apps, Apple gives you some core apps.

So when you pull a phone out of the box for the first time, you can still use it, but then

you go to the app store where you can buy apps from the best folks out there and pick

the apps that you want to use while Apple takes a cut of the proceeds.

Apple is going to continue to use Google models to power Apple intelligence to help you get

the most out of iOS and to power new devices like smart glasses and pendants so that out of the

box you will have some intelligence in there that you can use, but it will open Siri to third-party services.
