All right, Pete Sweeney here and you are about to listen to another edition of the Arrowhead

Pride Editor Show. As it turned out, it is Wednesday morning. We ended up recording

the show on Tuesday and we recorded it before the breaking news that the Kansas City

Chiefs had made the tough decision to release and move on from Anthony Hitchens. I'm briefly

joined by Steven Serdo. We're going to discuss this for a few minutes here and then get to

your editor show that was recorded on Tuesday. So Steve, I think we kind of understand where the

cheese were going with this. There was statements released by Brett Veech and he said when I first

became a general manager, one of the first moves I wanted to make was to bring in Anthony Hitchens

from Dallas. We knew how intelligent, hardworking and consistent he was as a player and we knew he'd

become a selfless leader. He was that and more. He has all the intangibles and was an integral

piece in our winning and our franchise winning a Super Bowl title. We appreciate everything he's

done for the organization and wish him the best as he continues his career. I really enjoyed the

opportunity to coach Anthony over the last four years. This is Andy Reed. He's as tough as they

come in the league and as a team first player, I appreciate the way he came to work, ready to do his

part, but also his willingness to teach the younger guys around him. The Chiefs will save

approximately $8.4 million in cap space and we estimate that right now, it had probably to be

around $11.7 million. So this is tough because this is a player who was around for the final year

of Bob Sutton and I think played a pivotal role in really turning the defense around. As it turned

out, there are hard reminders. I think sometimes in this business, I think back to the Chiefs cutting

Eric Barry and moving on from Justin Houston and Tom Baale where it gets to a certain point

where you have to make a business decision. The cap forces teams to do that and I think that's

what this was today. Yeah, listen, I've been hard on Anthony Hitchens over the last several years.
