I'm opening a time capsule of a bygone year, gradually working up to our current

one, to look back at what was happening in the world, in my life, and in this podcast, all with the

goal to celebrate and learn from this work we've created together. The year is 2019.

TikTok exploded. The streaming wars began with the launch of Disney Plus, and the influencer economy expanded to become more

mainstream and more commercialized. That was what was happening in the world at large.

For me personally, I want to share Behind the Mic.

Behind the Mic, I was now into having four kids for a year. My youngest turned one in February that year, and I was feeling

pretty adjusted as a mom. I felt like I had a lot of things down that way and was better balancing

work with home life as much as I could during that time. I had two afternoons a week for two

hours at a time where these sisters in my church

congregation, these young teens would come and help out with my kids while I worked for two hours

at a time. That was the first summer that I hired a babysitter to come help, I think three

afternoons a week while my youngest two slept, she would take my oldest two out on

adventures so I could work then. And Taylor, my podcast manager, and I had been working together for

a little over a year now. We're into our second year together. And those things helped to make me
