introducing to you an exciting project as well as the current state of the

podcast, its future and your important part in it. Thanks so much for being here.

In past years each November I've done something I've called a state of the podcast address and this is where I

typically give a general update on how the show is doing. I actually didn't do that

this past fall and honestly it was because I needed a little bit of space to think through the somewhat complicated state of the podcast.

Now I've done that and in today's episode I'm right of the how you play an important role in that future. I thought it would first be fun to start with

some did you know about the podcast. Did you know that we are considered an indie podcast, an independent podcast?

This means that I started it about progress as a regular person with nothing behind me,

no prior experience, no outside funding. I wasn't a celebrity or a

public persona. I wasn't someone a company or an ad network hired or

partnered with to make a show including funding all the behind

the scenes.

I am still the lone researcher, producer, editor, and content maker behind every minute of what you have heard and are hearing right now seven plus years in. Now with that in mind, the rest of these
