Summary

Are you guilty of looking around, comparing yourself to others, feeling less than, then choosing your path based on those (likely terrible) feelings? The goal of this interview is to help you understand that when you really thin, about it, almost everyone is doing something different from what you think of as the norm. You can forge your own path based on your unique values and by taking small risks that strengthen you.   Preethi Harbuck is a wife and mother of 5 who travels the world (and right now the country by RV) with her family. With an emphasis on getting outside their comfort zones, welcoming differences, and connecting with one another this has been the exact right path for her family. World travel might not be in alignment with your family or individual culture, but her story can teach you something. Learn how to expand your view, live more abundantly in welcoming differences, and let go of the idea that there is one right way to do anything.   About a few other things...   As we near the 4th anniversary and 300th episode of About Progress I'm doing a "300 giveaway" where you can win daily gifts. There will also be a drawing for 3 grand prize winners. To enter, just share the show, leave a rating and review, and make sure to let me know about it. Your support in this way means the world to me and allows me to continue to serve you best.   However you have chosen to educate your children during these unique and uncertain times, I want you to know you're doing the right thing! I have compiled all my favorite resources to share with you in hopes they support you in any way. As a former educator, turned newly homeschooling mama I want us to know we're all in this together, so check out the COVID School Resource Guide.   Sign up for the Go Getter Newsletter to get Progress Pointers in your inbox every Thursday.   SHOW NOTES Preethi's Instagram, Website Join Podcast University and learn how to start or grow your podcast! Prey Harbuck. Now this past summer we did something we weren't expecting to do and we bought an old fixer

0:45.7

upper in Salt Lake City and why this is different is because one we didn't know that

0:51.1

we would be buying a home in Utah and we are and the second

0:54.7

is instead of buying you know a much bigger home but in a bit more affordable of an area

1:00.6

we decided to get a more modestly sized home that needed a ton of work like almost a full gut actually a full gut

1:07.7

But where we wanted to be we wanted a big yard we wanted a home, we wanted it to be in Salt Lake.

1:15.6

I've had quite a few people ask me both within my family or just people on the internet

1:19.8

why we chose to do that and it really is because it reflects who we are and what we value

1:25.3

and what might be different about us. You know, being different is okay. This month we've been talking about abundance. Now scarcity means that you only can see one path and one choice and you fear differences both within yourself and with others.

1:41.0

But abundance is where you see that there are more choices, you can take more

1:46.6

than one path and it could be okay, and that differences are a really good thing. Today I have brought on a friend who I believe exemplifies this

ability to forge her own path to align better with what makes her happy and

2:01.1

her family happy and what helps them tick and what is in

alignment with their values. It's pretty hard buck. You might know her from the

local passport family. Now she knows what it's like to forge her own life with her own path.
