Summary

This is a power-packed episode that I know I will listen to over and over again. The tips are simple and doable, and there are lots of them. Every week I send out Progress Pointers, basically all the good stuff in a nice graphic, so that you can listen and learn without taking notes. In this interview we uncover why we get sooo distracted, and how to become indistractable, through understanding our individual values and time.   Nir Eyal, author and behavioral designer, has spent years researching habit formation - specifically teaching tech and product companies how to get users hooked. He has a refreshing take, though, and discourages the all-or-nothing abandonment of your smart device for a 1990's flip phone and typewriter (from personal experience, seriously). Instead, Nir teaches 4 techniques that are really mindset shifts to address the 3 biggest reasons you're getting distracted.   If you've been here for any amount of time you'll recognize many of the things we discuss: values, discomfort, taking action, even time management. Tune in and you'll feel encouraged to take action on the attributes of the person you want to become and be equipped to become indistractable.   About a few other things...   As we spend this month talking about consistency, it's so important to address our habits! I disagree with the idea that it takes a certain amount of time before you master a habit. I instead have seen that it's how often you practice your new habit that helps it stick. If you're unsure of where to start I'd love to see you in this FREE class "How to Make Habits that STICK" with 3 live sessions and replays.   Are you sick of your phone controlling your life? Distracting you from what really matters?
