Summary

It's the month of love, so we're going to sort of play off of that feeling with February's theme. No, not self love, not a frivolous treat yourself mindset, but real self respect. They are different, and there may be a time and place for self love, but as we work towards deep down growth and change you need to work towards self respect. Why does it matter to respect yourself? Life has so many ups and downs, so much of it is out of our control. But you can control yourself, you can be your own anchor amongst the storm. Respect is something that we can anchor into, more so than we can with just self love. Do you feel like you're living a reactive life? I'm opening up about the shift I had to make years ago, going from being reactive to active living. I had to find myself, learn to respect myself, and do something. What you're witnessing today was born during that time! In this episode I'm sharing a few simple questions you can ask yourself to just get started towards better self respect. 0:40.0

while I'm totally not going to bang on that topic at all, I think it's great that we are really focusing on loving who we are just as we are.

0:49.0

Sometimes that doesn't work for us.

0:51.0

In fact, I think it's more than just sometimes I have some issues with what

0:55.8

self-love can turn into for many of us it can turn into a treat yourself. That's more of a

1:01.5

superficial way of loving yourself instead of really deeply honoring

1:06.7

who you are. Another issue with self-love that we can have is it can become an excuse to staying stagnant.

The third issue I have with it, sometimes self-love is just too much of a stretch. How could I love myself if I'm just so

instead of just love, which is obviously a big focus

throughout February. We are going to focus on something else.
