How could Paul and the Thessalonian Church know what was restraining the man of lawlessness if the M-O-A wasn't alive on

earth yet.

Well, Judd, if I understand your question correctly, I think the premil view of this question would be that the

presence of the Holy Spirit through believers in Jesus Christ,

through his disciples, through his followers, they would be the restraining presence.

That's the typical view of this verse.

That doesn't get, I don't think, to the heart of your question, which is,

what was the meaning to this people at this time, to these people at this time, from the author

of this book? I think that's what you're trying to drill down to, and I still think the

pre-mill view would be, well, he's talking about the Holy Spirit there. That's the restraining hand.

I think you're talking about Second Thessalonians 2.6.

You know what is holding him, the man of lawlessness back, for he can only be revealed

only when his time comes.

So I think that's, I think that's probably what the answer to that question would be.

I've never heard a good from either the Amil or pre-millennial camp.
