May you live in interesting times. This week, Pensacola, Florida, received more snowfall in one day than we here in central Iowa have received so far this year.

This time last year, a guy named Aaron McIntyre was saying vicious things about the now president of the United States, who is absolutely showing a level

of viciousness towards the left, that we've never seen a Republican show the left before.

Welcome to the Friday edition of the AM update. You may notice a little bit different setup this week. Benjamin and I are

returning from a little bit of a family function in Kansas City, Missouri. It was a spur of the

moment thing. I had a random spur of the moment day off from my day job that was out of my control.

But happily, a happy coincidence, we had a family member, a sibling of

mine, one of my brothers in town, well, not in town, but in Kansas City as a part of his

business trip that he's on. So we packed up, went down to Kansas City, had a good time, a good

day with my family down there.

And it's late at night.

That's how I typically record these.

It's a little bit earlier in the day when I do the AM update,

but it's now so late that I'm going to be about collapsing when I get home eventually.

So we're recording this on the road.

You might hear my fuzz buster go off

intermittently. You might hear me scream curses at the seemingly never-ending line of cattle

semis, livestock trailers on the interstate who do not know how to drive. Nevertheless, Fridays are ask or tell me anything.

Going back with how I opened this, this time last year, I thought Donald Trump was dead in the water,

even though he had just won the Iowa caucuses. I decided that the primary is over then.

There's no point to trying to debate anymore, trying to slit each other's throats anymore.
