they are reaching out and almost seem to arrive with dark intent.

The forest is known for its almost complete lack of sound, no birds, no insects, no animals

making forest calls.

In some people walk into the primeval undergrowth, the immediately report feeling isolated

and anxious, enveloped by the strangeness of the oppressive atmosphere.

For years, Japanese authorities have posted signs on the forest edges, warning of the dangers

of becoming lost within the shadow-filled woods, and urging those who are contemplating
