Last week Representative Alexandria Elkhazio Cortez, or AOC, spent a few hours murdering people on a spaceship while hundreds of thousands of people watched.

She was on Twitch, the internet's biggest platform for live streaming video games, and in terms of

her viewers, her stream was one of the most watched ever.

Hey Teddy, thanks for having me.

So how did this game come together?

I'm curious, is this like the first time a big politician has

been on twitch? It's not the first time that a politician has been on

Twitter or any kind of celebrity. The platform since since it's a video game streaming platform,

video games are hugely popular. It has a huge audience. Politicians have used it

before. Bernie Sanders has a Twitch channel and so to show Biden, but no one has actually used it in the same way that

AOC has, which is actually soliciting already popular

to play a game with them on their own channel.

AOC actually went on Twitter and said,

hey, I'm really interested in this game among us. I've been hearing a lot about it and I really want to try it out.

Anyone want to play with me? What was the point of it? What was the political objective?

So ultimately it was to get out the vote.

It was to sort of encourage people, hey, make sure you have a voting plan for either November

3rd or in advance of that whenever early voting starts in your state or if you want to mail in your vote.

She was promoting the website I will vote.com which is focused on making sure people know how to vote and when to vote.
