Venezuela, a country on the northern coast of South America, a country who, due to its

political history, geographical location, and wealth of resources has been used as a pawn

in geopolitical confrontation and exploitation over the course of the last century.

If you're up to date with happenings concerning the country in 2026, then you know that their

most recently elected leader, Nicholas Maduro, was kidnapped in the middle of the night,

along with his wife, Celia Flores, by United States military forces.

That happened during a bombing campaign executed by United States President Donald Trump.

Reports estimate that over 80 people were killed.

This came after a decades-long confrontation and strife between Maduro, his mentor, and former Venezuelan leader

Hugo Chavez, and the United States of America. President Trump spent the last decade hoping

and praying that an opportunity to remove Maduro from power would eventually come. And he spent

the last several months engineering military escalation

and manufacturing consent, which involved air striking vessels in the Caribbean Sea,

in an effort to fight drug trafficking in Latin America. Trump claimed that these vessels were

committing crimes and were operated by Venezuelan and Colombian criminal organizations, but has yet to produce any real proof.

And it turns out, beneath all the words and truth social posts, Trump and America wanted two things.

Regime change in Venezuela and oil.

Lots and lots of oil.

And it seems they're probably going to get both.
