Welcome to the podcast. My name is Douglas Wilson. This is episode 376, and I'm glad you decided to join us.

0:26.7

The thing I wanted to start off with this time is something that I've noticed and has been somewhat dismaying over the last couple of years, And I want to offer a suggestion as to why it's

0:41.0

happening. You can call this if you want to label it, anxiety storms and scapegoating.

0:48.6

Anxiety storms and scapegoating. Now, what happens when a large number of people start to congregate when,

0:58.7

you know, a town or a city forms or a population expands quickly either in a town or, let's say,

1:07.0

in a church, the congregation grows rapidly. One of the things that's going to happen is you

1:13.5

have to remember to treat individuals like they were water droplets. And when you get a certain

1:20.9

number of water droplets together in the sky, you have a cloud. And when you get a big cloud, you have a thunderhead.

2:22.3

anxiety storm was the pandemic, the COVID pandemic, where all of a sudden there was this huge,

2:32.6

you know, we'll call it anxiety lightning. You've got anxiety storms, anxiety lightning, anxiety thunder.

2:39.6

And you've got this enormous electrical charge that's built up in society.

2:47.1

And that charge has to go somewhere. So when someone challenged the prevailing orthodoxy, let's say by some moral outrage, for a moral outrage, let's say they proposed that we use ivermectin instead of getting the jab.

3:06.4

This person was not treated as though they were simply

3:11.0

mistaken. They were treated as a pariah. They were treated as someone who was being wicked.

3:17.9

The full force of society's censures came down on them. Let's see if we can wreck their lives. Okay.
