| 0:59.0 | Alright, Luke 12 verses 27 through 28. Jesus says, consider the lilies. You know what a lily is, right? It's a flower. |
| 1:08.0 | It's a beautiful, just gorgeous, brilliant colored flower. Consider the lilies how they grow. |
| 1:16.0 | They neither toil nor spin. Yet I can tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not a raid like one of these. |
| 1:26.0 | So stop for a moment. You remember Solomon from the Old Testament, right? He was the wisest person to ever live, the Bible says. |
| 1:34.0 | And he also was one of the wealthiest kings ever to live. If you take the amount of goods he owned compared to, you know, our day even, he was one of the wealthiest people, comparatively, whoever lived. |
| 1:46.0 | And he's saying that Solomon in all his glory, so in his finest finery, his most elaborate crown, he was not a raid, even equal to or comparable to these lilies that God has created to be so beautiful. |
| 2:01.0 | I don't know if you've thought about this, but when I look at flowers and I look at tropical fish as well, just the brilliant colors, to me they feel like God just showing off. |
| 2:11.0 | I mean, he's just showing his splendor, his creativity, his appreciation of beauty and art and all of those things. He is showing us his ability to provide luxuriously and generously. |
| 2:25.0 | And that is what Jesus is saying here. He's saying, look at the lilies, learn a lesson from them. They don't toil. They don't spin. |
| 2:34.0 | So in other words, they're not working hard. They're not fretting their existence or being anxious about everything. But even Solomon in all his glory wasn't dressed like one of them. |
| 2:48.0 | And then he says in verse 28, but if God so clothes the grass, now he's referring to grass as compared to lilies, he's saying, no lilies are like grass. |
| 2:57.0 | If God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today and tomorrow was thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you? Oh, you of little faith. |
| 3:08.0 | You see, Jesus is pointing out to us again. If God takes such good care of something so small and of such little value that doesn't even have a soul, don't you think he's going to take care of you? |
