Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the Morning Mindset. I hope you're ready to get your mind aligned with the Truth of God today as it relates to the issue of anxiety.

If you know anyone who is battling anxiety in their lives, I encourage you to share this series of episodes with them beginning back on March 1st.

We began talking about anxiety from a biblical perspective and why as Christ followers, we are not to be characterized by anxiety.

And I mentioned that God always gives us the reasons why He gives us a command and He gives us the means of how to fulfill that command.

You could make a difference in the life of someone for eternity by sharing this series with them.

And before we get started, I want to recognize people who are listening in different parts of the world, different countries who are listening to the Morning Mindset.

And I noticed today, in our stats, there are a number of people in the Ukraine who are listening to the Morning Mindset.

There are also a number of people in Russia who are listening to the Morning Mindset.

Now, political and cultural issues aside, I want to say we are praying for you brothers and sisters.

We are praying for you with this tension that's going on over in those areas and the possibility of war. We are praying for you.

We are asking God to bring peace to execute judgment and to bring an end to the conflict. Just know your brothers and sisters are with you.

Or today, we're going to be looking at Luke chapter 12 verses 4 through 7, continuing from yesterday's passage.

Yesterday, Jesus set the context and He told us that we need to be sure, as people who say we are Christ's followers, that we are living consistently with that confession.

Here in verse 4, He's going to continue on into this subject matter of anxiety by pointing out where it comes from.

He says, I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body and after that have nothing more than they can do.

But I will warn you, whom to fear? Fear Him who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear Him.

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God? Why even the hairs of your head are all numbered? Fear not. You are of more value than many sparrows.

We could actually take 30 minutes to unpack this passage, possibly even more. Just to understand what Jesus is saying here.

But first off, He's saying, anxiety comes from misplaced fear. Think about it. Anxiety is a form of fear, isn't it?

But He's saying, when you fear the wrong things, you are going to be troubled and you are going to be anxious.

And He goes right for the jugular in pointing out one of the most extreme things we could fear.

Being killed, the threat of someone else killing us. He says, I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body and after that have nothing more they can do.
