Summary

On this first episode of my new season it's just me, welcoming you back and filling you in on everything that's been going on for me since I've last shared an episode plus I include an exclusive excerpt from my new book which offers readers and listeners reassurance from the other side: the very words I so desperately wanted to hear when I was in the depths of despair with crippling anxiety. Welcome back!

Hello, dear listener and welcome back to a brand new season of

0:23.6

owning it the anxiety podcast with me, Caroline Forin. It is so, so good to be back and so much has changed

0:31.7

since we last spoke, or well, since I last spoke to you. I think it's been maybe a year for this first episode

0:39.9

because it's been so long I wanted to do a quick solo one before we get into all of the expert

0:45.4

guests episodes and there are quite a few I want to catch you up on where I've been why the long

0:51.3

break how anxiety has looked for me in that time, and just give us a chance to find

0:56.3

our footing again. Honestly, I wasn't sure whether or not I would come back to the podcast. I

1:01.6

kind of just fell out of it. I never thought it would be something that would last this long in the

1:06.5

first place, but it just kind of kept going. And also, it did for a while become quite a viable career

1:13.0

or at least a piece of a career that I never expected and was a very welcome revenue stream

1:19.8

when you're self-employed but then things kind of dried up and because there are just so many

1:25.4

podcasts around now which is great but there's still the same amount of money being spread quite thinly.

1:31.8

And people, of course, are going bigger and better and offering so much more and beyond.

1:37.1

And as much as I would love to have made more of owning it, I'm kind of at capacity and I'll explain that here.

1:43.0

So straightforward conversations with people who

1:45.7

make a difference is how it's always been for me and it's how it will remain. I also kind of thought

1:51.6

I'd covered pretty much everything there is to say about anxiety, but I think it shows up in so many

1:57.3

ways, so many new ways for so many people and people who have never experienced it before.

2:02.8

And I realize that there's still more to say, more chats to have, more angles to explore,

2:08.7

whether you've been with me for the long haul or you're new here.
