Ladies and gentlemen, in this podcast, we're going to see what God says about rebellion, about

0:08.8

sovereignty, about government, about leadership, about our responsibility, about sin, about anxiety,

0:15.4

and about prayer. Yeah, we're all going to cover that in this short podcast today.

0:19.7

We're recording this the day before the United States election.

0:24.3

And all of these issues are at least touching on this election.

0:30.4

Let's start with the rebellion.

0:31.7

You know, there's a Psalm that I've always found extremely intriguing,

0:40.0

particularly when it comes to rebellion.

0:43.2

It's Psalm 2. Check out Psalm 2, ladies and gentlemen.

0:50.8

Psalm 2 says this, why do the nations conspire and the people's plot in vain?

0:58.1

1:28.8

But the nations around them don't. They want to throw off the shackles of the Lord. They want to

1:35.9

break the chains of what the Lord wants. And we see that in our government now. We see that in

1:43.0

human governments all over the world. We as people

1:47.6

don't want to follow the Lord. We want to throw off what we perceive to be God's chains and throw

1:53.6

off God's shackles. But the one enthroned in heaven laughs. The Lord scoffs at them. He rebukes them

2:00.7

and his anger and terrifies them and his wrath

2:02.8

saying, I've installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain. I will proclaim the Lord's decree. He said to me,

2:09.7

you are my son. Today, I have become your father. This is a messianic Psalm as well, ladies and gentlemen.

2:15.6

God says, ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,

2:19.1

the ends of the earth, your possession. And that's ultimately what's going to happen in the end
