My guest today is my friend Antonio Delgado.

Antonio is the lieutenant governor of the state of New York.

He was just appointed to that post, but he's standing for election tomorrow.

I will say I've had very few, maybe one politician ever on this podcast.

Antonio, I don't consider you, you know, when I think of the word politician,

it's a very thin word, and it speaks mostly to the ambition to gain office most of the time,

as opposed to being a state's person, or somebody concerned about participating.

And the fact that I know you, and I've spent time with you, not when you were campaigning,

but with your wife, Lacey Schwartz, who's an incredible filmmaker, who I know,

and with your family, I know your intentions, and that's why I wanted to have you on.

And that's why I'm supporting you this fully.

So thanks for taking time to have this conversation.

And, you know, I always try to stress that I'm a public servant.

And that's really what this work should be about.

Where a politician is such a loaded term these days, and means so many different things.

So I just keep it simple, because I really do care about serving the public,

and want to be in a position where, at a time where I think service is really required,

to step up and meet the moment.
