Summary

What happens when life turns up the heat? Do you harden like an egg or soften like a potato? This fascinating question lies at the heart of anti-fragility, a concept that transforms how we view challenges and adversity. Most of us strive to be resilient – to bounce back from difficulties. My friends, have you heard of this concept of being anti-fragile?

0:15.9

They just love that expression, anti-fragile.

0:19.4

Anti-fragility comes from a book called Anti-Fragile, Things That Gained from Disorder. It's a book that was written a long time ago, maybe 2010, something like that. I read it years ago. But I love this book because the premise is essentially that some things like people or businesses or systems, really anything,

0:42.1

1:37.7

Right? When we boil potatoes, it's so that we can mash them.

1:42.4

And so stress reveals our nature, right? What's inside of us? What are we made of?

1:49.7

So the challenges that come up, right? For some people, that boiling water is going to harden them.

1:54.7

It's going to toughen them. It's going to be a great outcome. For other people, it's going to be

2:00.0

the opposite. We're going to feel weaker under pressure.

2:03.2

So think about yourself, right? Are you anti-fragile? When stress comes up, do you emerge stronger?

2:09.5

Do you emerge a little wiser? Are you better off in the long term?

2:16.2

Now, I don't know about you, but if I don't, I wouldn't, I don't perceive myself as a
