Today, guys, though, we start with some bad news, especially if you're a Canada basketball fan.

According to multiple reports, including our own Shams, the Maverick's Fear that starting center,

Dwight Powell, suffered a season-ending torn right Achilles tendon early in the first quarter of last night's game versus the Clippers. He was injured. He attempted to sort of drive to the hoop and his right leg just gave out. It looked bad when he attempted to push off. He collapsed and, yeah, waiting on the MRI, but not likely going to be good news. You would have to assume that he's probably done for the season.

And I say bad news if you're a Canada basketball fan, not only for the Mavs losing a guy like Powell,

but he likely won't be there come the summertime and trying to help Canada qualify for the Olympics.

He kind of looked back as well as he tumbled down there, which is often a sign because guys who have had

done their Achilles, Achilles before, sort of say it's almost they feel like someone kicks them behind and they sort of look to someone to be there and there was nobody there. So yeah, that was a pretty sad moment there for Dwight. He was in obviously a lot of pain as it happened and we didn't see him again last night and I don't think we'll see him again this season.
