Scripture promises that Jesus Christ will come back one day.

Let's finish Dr Stanley's life principal series with a reminder to

anticipate the Lord's return. In God's economy and in his seasons of time, the next big thing that's going to happen is he's coming

for his church.

He says he's not going to take us through the wrath of the tribulation.

conscious that we can meet the Lord and the truth is this.

Many people wake up in the morning go about their job and never get there killed

instantly in an automobile accident, never have a chance to even think. And people who are so unwise

who say, well, at the last instant of my life, probably then I'm going to believe. You may not

have a conscious moment to believe. How foolish. Jesus says we'll be conscious of his

return. Now 2 Peter 3.8 and notice what he says in this passage, but do not let this one fact escape

your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a

thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow

about his promise. That is he's not going to fail to keep his promise. He says

the Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness but is patient

toward you not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Now think about this if a thousand years is one day with the Lord and one day is a thousand years
