Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham on the last day of April a time when we should have been celebrating the one-month anniversary of having left the

European Union. Instead, though, we are still tied to the burgeoning bureaucracy. We are busy electing more MEPs to go to Brussels and Strasbourg, and the

government is busying itself, meeting with a load of climate change squatters and demonstrators

with a view to taking their advice on going back to the Stone Age. Brilliant, isn't it?

what lesson have we just taught the public of this country?

What lesson have we just taught the children of this country?

We have taught them that the more that you demonstrate,

the more that you break the law, the more that you cause a nuisance,

the more likely you are to be listened to.

Meanwhile, in the outside world on the streets of Britain, our society becomes

ever more lawless. If you're not dodging a load of protesters sitting down in the road or

cycling slowly over bridges, you are more and more likely to be a victim of antisocial behaviour,

and the police are less and less likely to do anything about it. We have become a more violent

and rude society, and there are examples of it everywhere. We look, today, Baroness Newlove, whose husband Gary, was beaten to death by drunken thugs outside his own home in 2007,

publishes a depressing report as the Victims Commissioner, where she concludes that things are getting worse, not better.
