Summary

Join Jim and Greg for Thursday’s 3 Martini Lunch as they react to the House narrowly passing President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, shocking anti-Semitic murders in Washington, a humiliating naval blunder for North Korea, and Delaware Sen. Chris Coons still trying to defend Joe Biden's re-election bid.

First, after noting the House passage of the administration’s top legislative priority and two Republicans inexplicably missing the vote, they recoil at the horrifying murders of two Israeli embassy employees in Washington. The alleged shooter reportedly shouted “Free Free Palestine” while being arrested. Jim highlights the ongoing danger posed to Jewish Americans and anyone who associates with them as unabashed anti-Semitism rages on college campuses and beyond.

Next, they lighten things up with reports of a North Korean warship getting severely damaged during a launch ceremony attended by Kim Jong-Un. The failed launch is a major embarrassment for the regime. But while public humiliation for Kim is welcome news, Jim and Greg note the grim likelihood that those blamed for the incident will face brutal punishment.

Finally, they get a kick out of Delaware Sen. Chris Coons, one of Biden’s closest allies, dodging questions about his post-debate remarks insisting Biden could still serve another term. Coons now says he doesn't want to "relitigate" the past but focus on the future.

kind of a fun thing that happened to the North Koreans. And if it's fun for us, it's not very fun for

0:32.6

them. And we'll also talk about the latest spin job from the Democrats as it relates to all the revelations about Joe Biden.

0:41.1

But Jim, before we get into all of that, a real quick update.

0:44.8

The big, beautiful bill that we talked about on Wednesday passed after a fight in the rules committee and then a debate on the floor went all night. Final vote,

0:55.9

what is I think, around 730 or something this morning. 215 to 214, it passed. There was a manager's

1:04.6

amendment, meaning the speaker changed the bill in order to speed up when work requirements

1:09.7

for Medicaid recipients, these able-bodied adults,

1:12.6

who are now eligible thanks to Obamacare and the states have decided to expand.

1:16.2

That kicks in down 2026 as opposed to 29.

1:19.8

They did, however, codify the lifting of the salt deduction cap from 10,000 to 40,000.

1:25.9

So the blue state Republicans getting a big win there. We'll see what

1:29.2

happens in the Senate. Obviously, some folks there will probably want to make some changes,

1:33.4

which means we get to do this all again pretty soon. Yeah, you know, by the way, if I had a dime

1:37.5

for every time, I heard something that went through the House that conservatives didn't really

1:41.8

like and was like, oh, don't worry, the Senate will fix it.

1:45.5

I probably could pay off the debt.

1:49.6

I'm not expecting the U.S. Senate to come riding to the rescue and take out the stuff in the bill we don't like.

1:53.0

In fact, I don't really think you're going to see huge changes

1:55.0

to this bill going forward.
