In July 2016, more than a year before the Me Too movement began, Gretchen Carlson made a bold decision.

She sued Fox News Chief Roger Ailes for sexual harassment.

Now she's made it her mission to end non-disclosure agreements that muzzle people who sue over misconduct.

Do you see a conflict between what you're doing now and who that person was on Fox News?

No, because I know who Gretchen Carlson is.

Not at all.

I've been a fighter for women my whole life, and I've also been underestimated,

and people have loved to put labels on me and think that they

know who I am. Carlson signed a non-disclosure agreement when she settled her lawsuit, which

means she's been in the uniquely frustrating position of watching herself portrayed in the miniseries

The Loudest Voice and in the movie Bombshell without being able to consult on or

comment about either project. Carlson has turned her NDA-related anger into action, creating

the initiative, Lift Our Voices with Julie Roginski, a former Fox News contributor who also sued

Roger Ailes as well as Fox News and its then-president Bill Shine in

2017.

Reginsky and Carlson tell us how they're working to end mandatory non-disclosure agreements

in settlements of lawsuits involving alleged sexual harassment and misconduct.
