We have Sardana and Masha, who will be talking about their new podcast and project called Tim Su.

Before we get into that podcast project, maybe we can just start with introductions where you're calling from

and give it a little bit of background information about your work and what you do.

And we'll start with, Marcia.

Hi, everyone.

My name is Marcia and I'm currently in Indonesia.

So I'm in the tropics.

It's really hot here and it's late night, so I'm actually getting quite sleepy.

But I did my, I just graduated with my PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University

of Manitoba.

But we've been friends with Sardana

for a very long time. We went our undergraduate studies together. And then we did our

master's in the same city and then in the U.S. and then now. And then we also went to University

of Manitoba. So it's like we've had a long story of our friendship, I guess.

But my research is on indigenous women and resistance for land rights.

I conducted my research in the province of North Sumatra and Indonesia.

Yeah, and then looking at, you know, the gendered dynamics of a struggle for land rights

among the Batakoba communities in the province of North Sumatra.

Yeah, so that's kind of like a – and then I've worked on – I've worked for a long time in Indonesia before that, and also in the Philippines and Thailand.

And then I also worked in, after completing my PhD, then I worked with indigenous women in Canada, as well as with other women who experience gender-based violence.

So that's me.
