Open AI, teasing some new upgrades to its AI coding tool this week. As rival Anthropics Claude continues to gain traction, add some new features too. Our Dear Deboza has been hands-on with Claude for a few days now and has more in today's tech. Hey, Dee. Hey, Carl, good morning. So Open AI, it's playing catch-up here because it's been win after win for Anthropics Cloud Code over the last few weeks

0:21.0

as I've been talking all about it. With co-work, Cloud made it possible to build fully functional

0:25.7

apps with just a few prompts. Now with its Excel integration, anyone can do the work of a

0:30.4

financial analyst with just a few prompts. Now, we all, as CNBC anchors and reporters, we pour

0:35.1

through sell side notes on the daily. But with

0:37.7

Claude and Excel, I could get at exactly the insight that I was looking for, key assumptions,

0:42.8

sensitivities that matter, bull and bear cases, all without digging through 20 or 100 pages

0:48.0

of someone else's framework. Now, for Alphabet, the question heading into earnings is the AI

0:53.0

tax, AI search queries, they cost more to serve

0:55.7

than traditional ones. And with AI mode, Google is serving them to a billion plus users. The big

1:00.8

question is whether AI search expands or quietly erodes the business. So I ask Claude to

1:06.4

build a scenarios tab that you're looking at it right now. It shows the bull-bear base cases that I can

1:11.6

toggle between by just writing bull or bear in that cell. In less than 10 minutes, I had this,

1:17.5

this analysis you can see exactly where AI costs start to pressure margins, how much revenue

1:22.2

has to grow to offset it, all without touching a single cell to build this. Now with another prompt, Claude gave me this takeaway, showing that the best case versus

1:30.9

worst case scenario for Alphabet in this scenario is a nearly $11 billion difference on gross

1:36.8

income.

1:37.6

Now, guys, this does beg the question, why hasn't Microsoft or Google built this into Excel

1:44.0

or Sheets itself? Now, legacy tech, one reason

1:47.1

maybe, it's because they're layering AI on top of old foundations, the sort of innovator's

1:52.6

dilemma, whereas Anthropic is AI native. It's actually rebuilding how these tools get used.

1:59.1

So it's not just formatting. It's not just looking and calculating,
